This blog is a project undertaken by Ben and Aimi Karst, founders of Tiempo España Dance Academy, to share their knowledge around Cuban Salsa as well as related dances with their students and any other interested salsa dancers.
Having danced Cuban salsa for many years Aimi and Ben are very passionate not only about the dance itself but also around the culture and history surrounding it. While they always try to pass on as much information to their students as possible during salsa classes, ultimately the classes are designed for dancing rather than spending too much time on more theoretical concepts. Additionally, this blog is an ideal way to share knowledge not only with people based in Yorkshire who are able to attend one of the Cuban salsa classes offered by Tiempo España Dance Academy but also to include the international salsa community into a collective forum. We hope to provide informative articles that ignite discussions leading to a higher understanding of Cuban dances which despite their popularity continue to be under-researched due to a general lack of documentations.
